Welcome

About the project
MUSIC FROM THE WORM FARM was an eight-month research and development
residency in the The Nurrish Lab within the MRC Cell Biology Unit,
University College London, funded by a Wellcome Trust Arts Award.
It explored a new and experimental collaboration between composer
Keith Johnson and neurobiologist Stephen Nurrish. The deep questions
at the heart of both our interests are those that concern the brain
and the body, what we think and what we do, and the mysterious
middle ground between them. The creative process was documented
on the blog in words and images and many of the musical outcomes
are recorded there.
In March 2009 we had a discussion and performance event which
brought the results of the residency together, with performances
by
pianist Philip Howard and ensemble [rout].
